A DAY TO REMEMBER

PSALM 118:24

People are trapped in history, and history is trapped in people, therefore each day has been significant in history. Let us take a glimpse at this Day in History – April 20th.

On April 20, 1889, Adolf Hitler, an Austrian-born German dictator and political leader, was born. He was an anti-Semitic Nazi leader who posited Jews were a second-class race who posed a risk to German ethnic supremacy and society. He was responsible for the genocide of around 6 million Jews, as well as other Holocaust victims.

The Lushan earthquake struck China on April 20, 2013. The earthquake killed 196 persons, left 24 individuals missing, and injured at least 11,826 others.

For the very first time in history, the price of US oil went negative on this day in 2020. The decline in demand for oil was caused by the Covid-19-induced lockdown, which prevented movement across the world.

Even if these events and circumstances make April 20 appear to be a poor day, consider the following insights:

God provides you with a new opportunity to praise Him today. This is a day He has made for us to rejoice and be glad in, according to Psalm 118:24.

God provides for you today and asks for your trust. He provides us with our daily bread on a daily basis (Luke 11:3).

God wishes to communicate to you today through His Word. Every day, the believers at Berea searched the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).

God wants to renew your inner self today. Day by day, He renews the inner man (2 Cor. 4:16).

April 20th, and every day, can be remarkable if you follow God’s lead.

Every new day provides us with new reasons to appreciate God.

🙏🏼 Lord, You made this day, and You have designated the hours as Your own. Let heaven rejoice, the earth be glad, and Your throne be surrounded by praise.
