EXODUS 34:1-9
A caricature is a painting or drawing of a person or thing whose features and shape have been distorted and exaggerated to mock or satirize the topic.
Making caricature of God is not funny. People make caricature when they wish to focus on just one or some of His attributes. Exaggerating any of His attributes presents a distorted view that people easily dismiss. Like a caricature, a distorted image of God is not taken seriously. For example, those who see God portrayed only as an angry and demanding judge may easily drive away people to someone who emphasizes mercy, if that is what they need.
God declares Himself to be merciful, but He also punishes the guilty (Exodus 34:6-7).
As we practice our faith, we should avoid portraying God as having only our favourite qualities. We must worship God for everything, not just for what we love or want.
🙏All-powerful, merciful, wise, and just are You Lord. We trust You because You are everything to us.
