JEREMIAH 5:18–23
A young storyteller sought to portray a grieving mother in a drama, though she had never known deep loss.
To prepare, she sat silently with widows around the fire as they shared their pain. At first, she tried to speak, to advise—but soon she learnt to listen. Only then did she begin to understand their sorrow.
In Jeremiah 5:21, God laments that His people have ears but do not hear.
Like the storyteller, we must learn to quieten ourselves and listen—not just to others, but to the voice of God, our Father, speaking wisdom and love.
🙏 May God grant you the grace to be a good listener, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
