Fear can leave us frozen, unable to move forward due to past hurts and potential future harm. We may lack the intelligence, strength, or courage to handle such situations.
Frederick Buechner’s description of God’s grace is captivating – that it resembles a gentle voice that assures us of both terrible and beautiful things in the world.
Terrible things will happen, and we often grieve and cry out for our hurts and fears. However, God is with us, carrying us with a love greater than anyone’s power to harm us. His love is a solid refuge for healing, and one day, we will awaken to renewed courage and the song of His faithfulness, like the Psalmist in Psalm 57:8-10.
