DEUTERONOMY 24:19–22; PROVERBS 12:11; PSALM 23
Someone once said, “Squirrels work hard before winter to bury their nuts in a location that is both secure and easily accessible.” “You may find their commotion amusing. Each squirrel sounds like an intruder, but a group of deer may cross your backyard without a sound.” What a striking difference!
Deers do not get ready for winter. When the snow falls, they consume whatever they come across.
Deer and squirrels symbolise God’s care for us, enabling us to work and save for the future and meeting our needs when resources are scarce. God provides seasons of plenty to prepare for seasons of need and leads us through perilous places to pleasant pastures, as seen in Psalm 23.
Also, God provides by instructing those with abundance to share with those in need, as stated in Deuteronomy 24:19. The Bible emphasises working while possible, saving, sharing, and trusting in God’s provision.
🙏Thank You, Lord, for the promise that You will meet our needs.
