GROWTH REQUIRES TIME

EPHESIANS 4:11–16

On her first day of nursery school, Charlotte was instructed to sketch a portrait. The drawing had two round eyes, an oblong head, and a basic sphere for a body. She was able to sketch herself at the conclusion of her nursery education, wearing vibrant clothing and smiling, illustrating the progression of a child’s maturity over time.

We may become impatient with slow spiritual growth, even when it is seen as the “fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22–23), and disheartened when we see sinful choices (Hebrews 5:12).

As we continue to pursue intimacy with Jesus ourselves, let us pray for each other and patiently come alongside those who love God but who seem to struggle with spiritual growth. Speaking the truth in love, let us continue to encourage one another, so that together we may grow to become in every respect the mature body of Christ who is the head (Ephesians 4:15).

🙏Lord, in our walk with You, help us to receive and offer encouragement.
