During a cell phone purchase in the Middle East, the clerk asked about the customer’s father’s name, which surprised the customer. This question was important for establishing identity and understanding ancestry, a concept not typically valued in some cultures.
The Israelites valued their ancestry, particularly their patriarch Abraham, and believed being part of his clan made them God’s children.
Jesus, in a conversation with the Jews, clarified that while Abraham was considered their earthly ancestor, their love for Him, the Father’s sent One, determines their being part of God’s family.
Today, we can choose our spiritual family through belief in Jesus, who grants us the right to become God’s children, unlike our human family.
Who is your spirirual Father? Have you made the decision to follow Jesus? Put your faith in Jesus, be forgiven of your sins, and join God’s family.
🙏Dear Lord, You are my heavenly Father. Thank You for Jesus, my Saviour.
