JUDGES 2:11–23; 21:25
He was feeding his obstinate pride after rejecting God’s word and the guidance of His Spirit. Was this worth the strain on his marriage? Not at all. However, he had left a trail of wounds because he had disregarded wise advice and had lived as though he had no one else to account to except himself.
There was a period of time when the Israelites acted rebelly. After Moses’ death, Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land, serving the Lord. However, after Joshua’s death, the Israelites forgot God’s actions, rejected godly leadership, and embraced sin (Judges 2:11–15).
The Israelites experienced improvement when judges were raised, serving like kings. However, when each judge died, they defied God, leading to devastating consequences.
Today, we can submit to Jesus, our eternal Ruler and King of Kings, as He is our living Judge and King.
