JOHN 20:24–31
Lew Wallace’s novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, published in 1880, is considered the most influential Christian book of the nineteenth century. It tells the true story of Jesus and the fictional story of Judah Ben-Hur.
The Gospels provide a glimpse into Jesus’ life, allowing us to witness His miracles, hear His words, and witness His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. John’s gospel concludes by stating that Jesus performed other signs in the presence of his disciples, urging believers to believe in Jesus as the Messiah and have life in His name.
In the same way that Lew Wallace’s studies, Bible reading, and writing brought him to believe in Jesus, so too does God’s Word lead us to a mental and spiritual transformation that grants us eternal life in and through Him.
🙏Lord Jesus, may the record of your life be written on our minds and hearts so that we may have ever-increasing faith in you.
