DEATH AND LIFE

GENESIS 50:22–26

I remember sitting with others by a dying man’s bedside and seeing both the amazing and the ordinary aspects of life. With God’s presence encompassing us as we wept over this great man who was dying at an early age of forty, his final breath felt like a holy moment.

Many faith heroes, such as Jacob and Joseph, experienced God’s faithfulness when they died. Jacob announced his imminent death, while Joseph instructed his brothers to hold firm in their faith.

While none of us can predict when or how our time on earth will end, we can pray to God to strengthen our faith in His presence. We can put our faith in Jesus’ assurance that He will prepare a place in His Father’s house for us (John 14:2–3).

🙏 Thank you, Lord, because even in our final moments, you will never leave us. You will be our God, embracing us. May it be so!
