ENCOURAGERS

ROMANS 16:1-4,13,21–23; 1 THESSALONIANS 5:11

In 2015, Hunter, aged 15, carried his brother Braden, aged 8, for a fifty-seven-mile walk to raise awareness about the needs of people with cerebral palsy. Braden weighs sixty pounds, and Hunter needed frequent rest stops to stretch his muscles. Hunter said that the people along the way helped him the most, as they cheered him on. His mom named the arduous trek “The Cerebral Palsy Swagger.”

Paul, a strong and courageous apostle, needed support from others whom he mentioned in Romans 16. These people who served alongside him encouraged him, met his needs, and prayed for him. These included Phoebe, Priscilla and Aquila, Rufus’s mother, and Gaius, who showed him hospitality and provided him with companionship and support, among many others.

We all require supportive friends and those we know who need our encouragement. As Jesus supports us, let us assist one another.

🙏 Lord, Your church has been established for love and care, and we ask for Your guidance in extending Your grace to others.
