GENESIS 3:1-8
My friend expressed doubt about God’s goodness after years of prayer, citing persistent pain and a lack of interest. Despite his deep-rooted belief in God’s goodness, his anger and bitterness over God’s silence led him to doubt. He found it easier to express anger than to bear sadness.
Doubting God’s goodness is as old as Adam and Eve, as they believed that God withheld the fruit from them, believing that it would open their eyes and lead them to be like God, knowing good and evil. In pride, they believed they should determine what was good for them.
Let us listen carefully to one another when we are feeling down and support one another in realising that God is good.
