JOHN 3:22-31
A city-wide service served as the church’s capstone to its outreach initiatives.
The team’s leader was a man who was hardly noticeable. “We hardly spotted you throughout the programme,” I told him when I ran into him a few days later, as I praised and acknowledged him for his efforts.
He said, “I like to work in the background.” He had no interest in gaining attention for himself.
His unassuming nature spoke for itself. It served as a reminder that we do not need to seek attention when serving the Lord. Whether or not we are openly praised by others, we can still glorify God.
We must become less, while Jesus, who is greater than all (John 3:31), must be seen (v. 30).
🙏🏻 Jesus, be the center of our thoughts, desires, and actions. Control us and use us.
