ISAIAH 61:10
Buyer’s Remorse is a condition that occurs after a person makes a purchase. The buyer is delighted just before making the purchase. However, after purchasing the item, a feeling of regret rushes over him/her. The buyer starts to wonder if the item was actually necessary, and whether money should have been spent on it.
The first instance of buyer’s remorse can be found in Genesis chapter 3. The whole thing started with the cunning serpent’s sales presentation. Eve was convinced to disbelieve God’s Word by him. He promised that she would have her eyes opened and be like God.
Eve went on to purchase the fruit . Adam ate as well. As a result, sin entered the world. The first man and woman, on the other hand, got more than they originally bargained for. Their eyes were opened, but they were not transformed to become like God. In fact, because of their knowledge of their nakedness, their first act was to hide from God.
The repercussions for sin are grave. It always prevents us from receiving God’s best. But, in His mercy and grace, God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skin clothing, signifying what Jesus Christ would do for us by dying for our sins on the cross. His blood was shed without hesitation so that we could be clothed in His righteousness!
“Knowledge and virtue, truth and grace,
These are the robes of richest dress.”
— Isaac Watts
🙏🏼 Thank you Lord for the cross that displayed Your righteousness and dressed us with that righteousness.
