1 CORINTHIANS 10:31
Jane was happy to be asked to sing at a church she was visiting, despite the fact that she was only asked a few minutes before the service began. She chose “To God Be the Glory,” a well-known hymn, because it was a tune that meant a lot to her. She practiced it in the church basement several times before singing it in church without accompaniment.
Jane found out later that week that certain members of the church did not appreciate her ministry. They thought she was showing off. Because they did not know who she was, they assumed she was singing to impress them rather than to glorify the Lord.
The Lord bestowed various talents and spiritual gifts on each of us to be used for His glory (Col. 3:23-24). We do not have to worry about what others think when we serve with that purpose, not to promote ourselves. God gave us His very best in the form of His Son Jesus, and we glorify Him by giving Him our very best in return.
🙏🏼 Dear Lord, we are at our best when we serve You from our hearts. May we glorify You today.
