ISAIAH 40:1-11
Advent is the beginning of another year of the Christian Church and the Church season that leads to Christmas Day.
At first, it was a time when converts to Christianity prepare for baptism.
In the Middle Ages, Advent was associated with the preparation for the Second Coming.
Many Christians still see Advent as a time to prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus.
Advent reminds us of two things:
* To celebrate the Incarnation – that the Word was made flesh and lived among us. By birth, life, death, and resurrection, Christ established the kingdom of God here on earth. (Mark 1:15)
* To Join believers through the ages and pray for the return of Christ. (Revelation 22:20)
🙏Lord, we await Your coming! As we celebrate the first Advent, we look toward the day when we will see You face to face.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
