MATTHEW 11:28-30
One day I found a boy about two years old who was having trouble lifting a twenty litre jerrican of water – an ambitious feat for his age. His eyes were determined and his face was pink with effort. I offered my help, and together we moved the weight to the corner he wanted. The heavy lifting that was so difficult for him was easy for me.
Jesus has this perspective on things that are difficult for us to handle. When life seems like a carousel of disasters, Jesus is not fazed by the challenges – even if they all happen in one day! He can handle anything, and that is why He said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
Are you tired of current problems? Are you burdened with stress and worry? Jesus is the only real solution. As we approach the Lord in prayer, we can shift our burdens to Him so that He can sustain us (Psalm 55:22). Ask Him today to help you with everything. By helping you with your burdens, He can supply rest for your soul, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
