GALATIANS 6:7-10
The universe is built on laws. Throughout history, scientists have known that everything in our universe is ruled by law. The whole world of physical science is ruled by law. You talk about everything from astronomy to agronomy, biology and botany, zoology, all these fields of study are absolutely predictable because the universe is built on absolute physical laws.
There are certain immutable laws in nature. Seeds, once planted, will germinate and produce the fruits that were embedded within them. Likewise, there are immutable laws that underlie the ways of God. We can push against them, but ultimately the principle of these laws will assert themselves and we will suffer the consequences.
A brief observation of the world we live in challenges many basic moral lessons we learned as children. Wrongdoing goes unpunished and individuals take unfair advantage of it to the detriment of others. Jesus himself suffered the abuse of the law when he was convicted and summarily executed at Calvary. Yet he remained silent and submitted to the court verdict.
It is easy in the moral confusion of our world to find a rational defence for actions that we know are unacceptable and the consequences of which can have a negative impact on others. Therefore, the unchanging law of God is simple; live by the revelation of the Word of God regardless of the consequences. This will prove to be tiring, because often no one notices it. Yet our judge, God, always observes and records our decisions and actions.
A crop cannot be reaped on the day the seed is sown. It is only revealed after being buried in the ground and undergoing the climatic change of the seasons. However, the harvest remains the only proof of the quality and regularity of the seed.
Obeying God may not get us noticed or rewarded, but it sows the seed of the kingdom through our lives. Let us know not give up, but let us keep cultivating. We will reap in due time.
🙏Creator God, You have the world in Your hands, help me to know that according to Your will I will reap what I have sown. I wait patiently to reap in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
