START YOUR OWN PRINTING PRESS!

PROVERBS 7:1-3

In Germany, around 1450, goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press, which resulted in an increase in literacy and mass communication revolution. The printing press could produce up to three thousand six hundred pages per day compared to forty by hand-printing and a few by hand-copying. Gutenberg produced the first-ever printed version of the Bible.

Today, we have the privilege of direct access to Scripture. While we also have electronic versions available to us, many of us often hold a physical Bible in our hands because of Gutenberg’s invention.

Having access to God’s truth is an amazing privilege. The writer of Proverbs asked us to treat His instructions to us in the Scriptures as something to be cherished. As we seek to understand the Bible and live according to its wisdom, it is like establishing our own printing presses in our hearts (Proverbs 7:3). This makes it easy to remember God’s words, trust them and obey them.
