ISAIAH 25:7
For twenty one years, Mary Ann Franco was totally blind after surviving a car accident in 1995.
It took another accident in 2016 to cause what she calls an act of God. After falling down in her home, she received surgery on her spine to alleviate pain in her neck and arm and, when she awoke, a miracle had taken place – she could see again.
The neurosurgeon, John Afshar, who conducted the surgery, said he had never seen anything like it. He insisted there was no scientific explanation for her restored vision. The darkness that seemed permanent gave way to beauty and light.
The Scriptures, as well as happenings all around us, tells us that a covering of ignorance and evil conceals the world, blinding all of us to God’s love (Isaiah 25:7). But God will not leave us hopeless. His glowing love removes whatever blinds us, surprising us with a beautiful vision of a good life and abundant grace.
The gloom is almost everywhere these days. As we sense darkness in our world, let us turn to the Lord to remove the covering cast, and every vail that is spread over the nations.
