If you want to be a Christian this life will fight you for it and nobody hits harder than life. The world will try to take your joy and your peace with every unpleasant circumstance and unforeseen peril.
It is also hard to envisage coming out from any fight without scars. Even Jesus had scars. He showed them to His disciples after His resurrection (Luke 24:39). That we win the fight does not mean we cannot get injured in the combat.
So, keep your head up. Be prepared for the good fight of faith and the scars of combat. They are God permitted processes that makes you a victor and not a victim.
