EPHESIANS 2:10
As I woke up this morning, I remembered that I am God’s handiwork.
A handiwork is what has been done or designed personally by an artist, a sculptor, weaver, painter, craftsman, etc. The Creator of the Universe, the One who made the Heavens and the Earth, personally took an interest in making me, and making you. He made us with His own hands and oversaw every detail. (Psalm 139: 13,15)
We are not accidents (nobody is). The God of the Universe formed every complex part of us.
Why did God create us? He wants to love us. He wants us to love and experience Him. He wants to have a relationship with us. He wants us to praise Him for all He has done.
When an artist of great skill fashions an outstanding piece of work, and calls it a masterpiece, upon completion of that work, he signs his work so that others know he did it. In like manner, God, our Father, calls us His Masterpieces and puts His signature on our lives. God admires His work, you and me, and delights in us.
There can be copies of a masterpiece, but there is only one original. There is only one of me and you, uniquely designed by God, who has gifted us with personality, skills, abilities, and desires.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Let us thank Him for creating us and giving us special qualities. And that He leads us into the lives He has planned for us.
