THE PAIN KILLER

JOHN 16:33

When pain arises in our lives, it takes up residence until something greater pushes it out. For some persons, setting goals and letting ambition run its course helps them keep their pains away. Some others try to find healing and peace in relationship after relationship.

We can try to crowd our schedules with busyness and people, and pain may take a back seat. But it resurfaces when we least expect. We need something greater than our pain. We need God.

God sees the state of our hearts. He knows what caused the pain and why it continues. He cares. No sin is too great that He turns away from helping us and offering us His grace and mercy. No trauma inflicted on us lessens our value in His eyes or causes Him to stop loving us. No storm is too massive that He cannot help His child through it. Our God does, and will, fight for us – killing the pains that try to snuff life out of us.
