HEBREWS 11:33-38
Every generation has its heroes in most walks of life. It is good to remember them with gratitude for the influence they have had in our lives.
The Bible too has its list of heroes, many of whom are preached about on any given occasion. Hebrews chapter 11 is often called the who is who of the heroes of the faith. While many of the well known heroes of the Bible are mentioned in this chapter, verses 33-38 also identifies others whose names are not mentioned. I would like to call them the unknown heroes of the faith. Although unknown, they were nevertheless effective in the role they played for God.
Many people want to be seen and talked about; to feel relevant. We do not need that to put our names in golden letters before heaven. We may not be named by men, but the unknown heroes must continue to exist and make their marks in history.
Today, we can be heroes for God (known or unknown)!
