THE POWER OF WAITING — A LESSON FROM THE BAMBOO TREE

LUKE 24:44–49

A Chinese bamboo tree is watered for years without visible growth, then suddenly shoots up in weeks. Likewise, the disciples waited in fear after Christ’s resurrection, yet their waiting prepared them for divine empowerment. Waiting is not wasted when God is at work.

Jesus explained that His suffering, death, and resurrection fulfilled Scripture. He declared that repentance and forgiveness would be preached to all nations, and instructed His disciples to remain in Jerusalem until they received power from the Holy Spirit.

This teaches us that God’s work requires God’s power. Like the disciples, we must not rush ahead in fear or self-effort, but wait prayerfully for His enabling. True effectiveness in life and ministry comes when we depend fully on the Holy Spirit.

🙏 May the Lord Jesus teach you to wait and trust His timing. Amen.
