COLOSSIANS 1:15-23
At school, Maya overheard her friends talking about their favourite celebrities. One asked her, “Who is someone you admire most?” Without hesitation, she said, “Jesus.” They looked surprised. “Why Him?”
Maya smiled. “Because He changed my life. He is not just a historical figure—He is real to me. When I feel alone, He is there. When I mess up, He forgives me. He gives me peace no one else can.”
Later that night, Maya read Colossians 1 and remembered why Jesus is so worthy of honour. He shows us what God is like. He gave up everything—even His life—to save us from sin. Only someone perfect could restore our connection with God (Col. 1:14, 20).
Jesus is not just admired—He is worshipped. Not because we have to, but because we want to. He defeated death, gives us purpose, and walks with us every day.
That is why Maya lifts Him higher than anyone else—because no one loves us like He does.
