LUKE 6:27-37
If you are anything like me, you almost never read the full text of an online service contract before you agree to it. They go on for pages, and the majority of the legal jargon is incomprehensible to someone like me.
So it came as quite a surprise to me when a friend informed me of this unique service agreement for online software. The creator provides a straightforward blessing encouraging people to use it for good rather than a wordy license instructing them how not to use it:
May you always choose right over wrong. May you be able to forgive others and yourself. May you always give more than you take when sharing.
Imagine if more service agreement conditions were written as blessings rather than as formal contracts. This agreement is similar to the agreement Jesus makes with us. He provides us with the Holy Spirit’s presence, forgiveness of sin, and harmony with God. All He asks in return is that we worship Him, love others as He has loved us, do good deeds, and forgive others as we have been forgiven.
Jesus made a deal with us, and the beauty of it is that even if we fail to keep it, we still have an opportunity to repent and get the blessing.
