EXODUS 20:12
At times, parenting can seem like the most difficult job in the world, but it is truly the most rewarding.
Surrounded by educational and psychological “experts” on childrearing, too many parents feel inadequate for the task. But is that not odd, since parents have been raising their children for centuries without these experts and, usually, have been quite successful at it?
The Bible gives parents a very important role. In fact, they are so important that one of the Ten Commandments concerns them: Exodus 20:12.
Going against the grain of the world, the Bible imposes a prime role on parents: discipline. It is an unpopular word these days. So many schools are now lacking in it, so where will it come from if not from parents? In fact, parental discipline is an imitation of God himself.
