NO REVERSE

EXODUS 14:15; 16:1-12

Immediately he saw her, he fell in love. She was a beauty, elegant, clean, radiant. As soon as he beheld the 1962 Ford Thunderbird at the used-car lot, he was drawn by her brilliant exterior and incredible interior. He knew this was the car for him so he bought it.

But there was a problem lurking in his precious possession. A few days after the purchase, it only allowed him to move forward, but he could not go back. It had no reverse.

While not having reverse gear is a problem with a car, sometimes it is good that we look a bit like that old car. We must keep moving forward – without the possibility of putting life into reverse. In our walk with Jesus, we have to refuse to go back. Paul put it simply: We need to “press toward the mark” (Philippians 3:14).

The children of Israel had an experience similar to that of the owner of the car. We read in Exodus 16 that they were in danger of putting life into reverse. Despite the many miracles God had done, they longed for Egypt and failed to trust Him to guide them forward.

We need to keep moving ahead in our walk with God. Do not go back! Look forward!! Press on!!!

🙏Lord, no matter what we are facing, help us to trust You and move forward.
