2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
One of my friends is one of those people who seems to be better than me in almost every area. He is more intelligent, more thoughtful, and aware of where to obtain higher-quality literature to read. Being around him makes me want to improve. I strive to be better because of his high standards.
This brings to light a spiritual truth: in order for us to connect with the person of Christ, it is imperative that we spend time in God’s Word. I am compelled to love unconditionally after reading about the impact of Jesus’ love for us. I am ashamed of my tendency to withhold forgiveness and seek vengeance because of His generosity and His freely offered grace to the most unworthy people.
The more I understand that the Lord has clothed me in the splendor of His flawless righteousness despite my wretched fallenness, the more thankful I become. I am inspired and changed by His great methods and unmatched insight. When I am in His presence, I cannot help but feel drawn to imitate Him, making it difficult to be happy with my life as it is.
The apostle Paul exhorts us to experience the delight of seeing Christ. As we progress, we are changing from glory to glory into the same likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18).
🙏🏼Lord, help us to come into Your presence with eyes and hearts wide open to all that You are and want us to become.
