MATURITY IN DEFENDING THE FAITH

EPHESIANS 4:14-16

When a person responds to a situation in an age-appropriate manner, they are said to be mature. In a variety of contexts, including financial, physical, and even spiritual, the word “maturity” is employed.

Maturity is the goal of growing from childhood to adulthood. Although parents regret seeing their children leave for college or the workplace, it would be awful if they were unable to do so. We all have the capacity to develop both physically and spiritually through knowledge and experience. To find out what is real about God’s way of living life and how we could be best equipped to serve His world, it demands personal resolve and active learning because there are countless threats that aim to shipwreck our Christian faith.

If we pay close attention to our spiritual life, we will grow in faith and be clear about our positions and convictions. We are to speak truth, but gently and with mature understanding, in a time when the idea of God is consistently under attack. Faith is seen as an illogical attempt to explain reality away and hide from it, ultimately at odds with the logic of science. Christians are urged to participate bravely and persistently rather than to flee the stage.

🙏 Lord, help us to grow.
