LUKE 1:5–17; EPHESIANS 3:20-21
It is not always simple for us to comprehend why God occasionally takes His time to answer our requests.
Zechariah, a priest, was told by angel Gabriel that his prayer for a son, John, had been answered. Despite his wife Elizabeth’s age being beyond the expected childbirth age, God answered his prayer after a long time of waiting.
God’s perfect memory can remember prayers for generations, responding with love and sometimes no or wait. His ways are beyond our understanding, but we can trust His goodness. Zechariah learnt this from God, who gave him a son, John, who would announce the Messiah’s arrival.
Zechariah’s experience highlights an important point that should uplift us in our prayers as well: although God’s timing is not always in line with our own, it is always worth waiting for.
🙏 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
