PSALM 55:6
When we are overwhelmed by trials in our lives, when we are just hemmed-in on every side and we are so miserable and we see no way out, how do we respond?
I think that for a lot of people, they want to flee. They want to get out of there! That was exactly how David felt. He wanted to leave it all and just fly away!
How many times have we wished the same for ourselves? But God did not create us with the ability to sprout wings.
But running, or in this case, flying, would not bring David the comfort he wanted. He was made to run to God with every care and concern. He was made to wish for and seek after the comfort of being surrounded by God’s loving arms. He was made to rely on Him to heal the hurts and wounds caused by his enemies. We are made to do the same too. It always works better than wanting to fly away.
