2 THESSALONIANS 3:14–18
A young driver once ignored repeated warnings about speeding until a traffic officer stopped him and explained the danger. The interruption was uncomfortable, but it prevented a possible tragedy. Sometimes, loving correction protects us from greater harm.
In 2 Thessalonians 3:14–18, Paul tells believers to take note of anyone who deliberately disobeys God’s instruction and avoid close association with that person, so that the person may recognise the seriousness of their behaviour. However, such a person should not be treated as an enemy, but as a brother who needs restoration.
We must not excuse wrongdoing because we fear losing someone’s friendship or support. Let us correct with wisdom, humility and love, always seeking to restore the person to faithful obedience to God.
