1 KINGS 1:22-30
A company once discovered that an employee had been wrongly promoted. Instead of ignoring the mistake, the manager corrected it promptly, preventing greater conflict. Sometimes, correcting a wrong early saves everyone from painful consequences.
In 1 Kings 1:22-30, Nathan informed David that Adonijah had declared himself king. David realised that he had not authorised it and reaffirmed his promise that Solomon would succeed him. His timely intervention prevented a potentially dangerous succession crisis.
We must not exploit another’s weakness to advance selfish ambitions. When we discover that something is wrong, we should have the courage to correct it rather than allow it to worsen. Let us submit our desires to God and choose integrity over personal gain.
