ROMANS 13:14
A costume is something you put on and act as if you are the character you are portraying. A uniform, on the other hand, serves as a reminder that you are what you wear.
For military men, wearing a uniform signifies that they have begun a period of disciplined life aimed at changing their attitudes and behaviours.
Paul instructed Jesus’ followers at Rome to put off the works of darkness and put on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 13:12, 14). This would result in a new sense of self and a new way of life.
When we accept Christ as our Lord, He begins the process of moulding us to be more like Him every day. It is not about pretending to be someone or something we are not, but about becoming more and more who we are in Christ.
Although salvation is free, discipleship costs us our lives. Let us be sure we are properly dressed for it!
🙏🏼Oh! to be like Thee, oh! to be like Thee,
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart 🎶
