A PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST

MATTHEW 16:13–20

When David Livingstone travelled across Africa, many people knew him only through stories and reports. However, Jacob Wainwright, a freed slave, who travelled with him and later helped carry his body to the coast after his death, knew his character, sacrifices, and mission far better than those who had merely heard about him. Personal experience gave him a deeper understanding than public opinion ever could.

In Matthew 16:13–20, Jesus asked His disciples who people thought He was. While many held different views, Peter declared by God’s revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus affirmed this confession and revealed that His Church would be built upon this truth.

Many people today know about Jesus, but true faith comes from personally knowing Him through God’s revelation. Believers must remain firmly grounded in the truth that Jesus is the Messiah, the Lord and Saviour of the world.

🙏May Jesus Christ reveal Himself to you and strengthen your faith daily.
