WISDOM BEFORE ACTION

1 KINGS 9:10–28

Before signing a house rental agreement, a wise tenant inspects the property and carefully reads the terms. Rushing into an agreement without proper checks can lead to regret. Wisdom looks before it leaps.

In 1 Kings 9:10–28, Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in Galilee in exchange for materials supplied for his building projects. However, Hiram was displeased with the cities. Proper inspection and clear agreements beforehand might have prevented this disappointment. Yet Hiram expressed his displeasure respectfully, showing the importance of gentle words in resolving disagreements.

Before making important decisions, examine the details, clarify expectations and seek professional advice when necessary. When disappointed, speak firmly but politely. As Proverbs 15:1 teaches, a gentle answer turns away wrath. Let wisdom guide your decisions and kindness govern your words.

🙏 May the Lord grant you wisdom in every decision and grace in every conversation. Amen.
