WHEN GOD REMEMBERS THE LOWLY

LUKE 1:39–55

A small candle may look insignificant in daylight, yet when darkness comes, its light becomes valuable. Similarly, God can use seemingly ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. Mary’s response teaches us to remain grateful when God chooses and blesses us.

In Luke 1:39–55, Mary visits Elizabeth and breaks into a song of praise. She magnifies the Lord for looking upon her humble condition (vv. 46–49). She also celebrates His mercy, mighty deeds and faithfulness to His promises, especially towards the humble and His covenant people.

God’s grace should never produce pride or entitlement. Whatever He gives us is received by mercy. Like Mary, let us recognise His goodness, remain humble and continually praise Him for His faithfulness.

🙏May God’s grace keep you grateful and ever ready to magnify His name, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
