NUMBERS 6:22–27
A grandfather once wrote a blessing inside his family Bible. Long after he had passed away, his grandchildren read those words and felt his love afresh. Though years had gone by, the blessing still spoke.
In Numbers 6:22–27, God gives Aaron words to speak over Israel: “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.” The Lord is named repeatedly, showing that He Himself is the giver of protection, grace and peace. His blessing is deliberate and deeply personal.
In our hurried and uncertain world, we may question whether we are truly seen. Yet these ancient words assure us that God’s favour still rests upon His people. He keeps, sustains and makes His face shine upon us each day.
