I once focused so hard on setting a perfect table that I missed the laughter around it. Traditions can quietly become pressures, pulling our hearts away from joy and kindness.
In Matthew 15, Jesus challenges the Pharisees for elevating human traditions above God’s commands. He teaches that what truly matters is not outward rules, but the condition of the heart, because words and actions flow from within.
Today, we too can let expectations, routines, or perfectionism shape our behaviour. Christ invites us to choose love, humility, and grace over rigid standards.
