THE INTERRUPTED LIFEBOAT

MATTHEW 14:13–14

A lifeboat volunteer was exhausted, but he still continued to rescue strangers at sea. Compassion overrides weariness.

Matthew 14:13–14 shows Jesus grieving John the Baptist’s death. Seeking solitude, He is interrupted by crowds. Instead of withdrawing, He is moved with compassion, healing the sick and later feeding the multitude. After serving, He finally withdraws to pray, modelling both mercy and dependence on the Father.

Today, grief, pressure, and fatigue still interrupt us. Jesus shows we can pour out love even when empty—then return to God for renewal. In His presence, our compassion is restored for a hurting world.

🙏 May the Lord renew your strength so you can continue to love others with His compassion. Amen.
