IT NEVER EMPTIES

1 PETER 1:3–9

A friend of mine who was going to retire told me that his biggest worry about the next phase of life was that he would not have enough money. I spoke with my financial counsellor the following day, and he offered me suggestions on how to prevent running out of money. It is true that we all desire the assurance that we will have the means to support ourselves until we die.

No financial plan guarantees total security, but we can have a plan that extends beyond life and that can never perish, spoil, or fade (1 Peter 1:3–4).

By faith in Jesus, we receive an eternal inheritance, ensuring we live forever and never run out of what we need.

If we are able to, it is a good idea to plan for retirement. What matters more is that we have an everlasting inheritance that we can only access by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.
