IN DANGER OF FALLING

1 CORINTHIANS 10:1–13

Joyce received a bright yellow bracelet from a hospital employee when she was healing from a serious fall. It said, “Fall Risk.” The phrase meant: Keep a close eye on this person. She might stumble a little bit. Assist her movements.

First Corinthians 10 warns believers about the potential for sin, referencing the Israelites’ experiences of idol worship and immoral relationships. Paul emphasises that these events serve as a “fall risk” warning for believers to help them avoid sin.

Self-deception (tricking ourselves into believing that we are done with a particular sort of sin) can lead to temptation even after struggling with sin. God provides a way out of sin, and our part is to respond to His offer of escape.

🙏 Lord, show us the path out of the temptation that You provide. Give us courage to accept Your help so that we can continue to be obedient to You.
