THE FUTURE

REVELATION 22:1-5

We all have something in common. We live in a mixed-up, tarnished world, and we have never known anything different. Adam and Eve could recall the world before the curse, free from death, hardship, and pain. In pre-fall Eden, hunger, unemployment, and illness did not exist. No one questioned God’s creative power or human relationships plan.

The world we have inherited has some resemblance to God’s ideal garden, but it also carries the recollection of what may have been. This hazy recollection offers a prophetic window into eternity, when Christians will see God’s face and serve Him.

A believer’s destiny holds the promise of something better—life in heaven (a place that is as perfect as Eden)—despite the fact that the past and its repercussions may have a negative impact on the present.

🙏 Dear Lord, thank You for the promise of life with You in a perfect setting.
