EPHESIANS 2:4-7; HEBREWS 4:16
In 2009, Chesley Sullenberger, a pilot on a passenger airliner, made an emergency landing on the Hudson River. He was subsequently questioned about his life-or-death choices. Citing his 42-year deposit of training and expertise, he said he had enough money in his account to make a sizable withdrawal on that day.
Most of us will experience a crisis at some point. It might be the findings of a medical exam, the loss of a close friend or family member, the termination of a career, etc. These are the times when we need to reach far into the vault of our spiritual bank account.
What would we discover there, then? If we have experienced a growing intimacy with God, we have been consistently making “deposits” of faith.
When God’s children need to “withdraw,” God’s love and grace are there for them (Psalm 9:10; Hebrews 4:16).
🙏 Each day, we see You provide for us and show us mercy. Thank You, Lord Jesus.
