JOHN 8:31-38
Some people may consider the claim that “everyone is doing it” to be persuasive.
The list of justifications and excuses we use to get our way grows as we get older, like “No one will get hurt” and “It is not prohibited.” Every argument is based on the idea that what we want is more significant than anything else.
This flawed way of thinking suggests that the universe is not centred on God but rather on us, leading to carefree living. These lies suggest a quicker, simpler way to achieve goals, but ultimately result in misery rather than joy.
In John 8:31–32, Jesus stated that people who believed in Him would be set free by the truth. However, He also stated in verse 34 that everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
When we accept the reality that Jesus is the path to a rich and fulfilling life, we experience freedom, which is the best source of happiness.
🙏🏻 Lord, guide us to recognise that true happiness requires accepting the truth.
