ROMANS 7:15-25
After I conducted a training at his place of employment, a middle-aged man came up to me and said, “I have been a Christian almost all of my life, yet I am continually disappointed with myself. Why do I continually appear to do things that I know I should not do? Is God still interested in me? The two men who were standing close to me appeared eager to hear the reply as well.
Paul found out that focusing on Jesus rather than the law can help us combat our sins. We should focus on the One who extends mercy and works with the Spirit to transform us.
When we concentrate on the law, we are continuously reminded that we will never be deserving of God’s grace because of our sinfulness. But as we concentrate on Jesus, we start to resemble Him more.
