MATTHEW 11:28–12:8
He used to deliver newspapers as a youngster to make money. Since it was a morning publication, he had to rise at 3:00 am every morning, seven days a week, in order to deliver all 140 of his papers to their correct residences by 6:00 am.
But every year had a unique day. The only morning of the year he could sleep late and take it easy was Christmas, since he would deliver the Christmas morning newspaper on Christmas Eve.
Over the years, he learned to appreciate Christmas for a variety of reasons, but one that stood out in those times was that it was a day of rest unlike any other day of the year.
Jesus came to provide forgiveness and rest in Him for those who toil under a law that cannot be fulfilled.
🙏🏻 Dear Lord Jesus, give us rest.
