1 CORINTHIANS 15:50-58
In the early years of my life, in the 1970s and 1980s, I frequently passed time watching TV at home or going to the movies with family members. There were adventure serials that always ended with the hero or heroine facing impossible circumstances. Each episode ended with the words “To Be Continued…,” despite the fact that there seemed to be no way out.
Paul the apostle was no stranger to difficult circumstances. He was shipwrecked, assaulted, stoned, and imprisoned for trying to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Although he was aware that he would die one day, he never saw it as the end of the story.
We do not always escape an imminent end like the movie heroes. We were all born into this world, and one day, either through death or Christ’s second coming, our earthly lives will come to an end. However, the tale of my life and yours is “to be continued” by the grace and mercy of God.
In life and death, Christ is our hope.
🙏🏻Father, we thank You for Your gift of life and say with Paul, “Praise be to God who gives us strength to overcome through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor. 15:57).
